Carbonless Logic™ Building Envelope Course

One Time. Lifetime Access. Professionally Narrated.

Hey, it’s Brian here.

Two kinds of people find this course.

The first is a builder — someone who has been in the trade for years, knows how to swing a hammer and run a crew, but has a nagging feeling that there’s a layer of knowledge missing. Something that would explain why some buildings just work and others don’t. Something the code book never taught and the supply house never mentioned.

The second is a homeowner — someone about to spend the most money they’ve ever spent in their life, who wants to actually understand what they’re paying for. Maybe they’re contracting their own build. Maybe they’re hiring a builder and want to ask the right questions. Maybe they just had a mold problem they can’t explain, or an energy bill that never makes sense, and they’re tired of getting shrugged at.

Both of you belong here. The physics is the same. The principles are the same. And the results — buildings that last 100 years, cut energy demand by 50% or more, stay mold-free, and feel genuinely healthy to live in — are available to anyone willing to understand how a building envelope actually works.

That’s what this course teaches.

Real Knowledge. No Homework. No Deadlines.

This is not a test. There’s no syllabus you have to follow in order. No deadlines. No stress.

What you get is 14 professionally narrated audio modules — recorded by the same professional narrator as the Carbonless audiobook — that you can listen to anywhere. On the job site. In the truck. At home on the couch. Start where you need to. Skip what doesn’t apply. Come back anytime. Lifetime access forever.

This is the same building science that state and provincial education boards across the United States and Canada are actively reviewing for adoption as a formal continuing education series for builders and Realtors. No CE credits are issued with this purchase — but the knowledge is identical, available right now, at a fraction of what formal CE will cost, without the paperwork or the waiting.

You don’t need a credential to build a better building. You need to understand the physics.

My recommended starting path — a few hours and you’ll feel unstoppable:

      1.    Module 0 — Welcome to Carbonless Logic™ (the physics that apply everywhere)

      2.    Module 2 — The Envelope: Building Physics That Lasts (start designing your envelope)

      3.    Module 5 — Air, Moisture, and Mold Control (because moisture always comes next)

After that, pick what you need. Skip the rest. No deadlines. No stress. Lifetime access forever.

Your 14 Modules

Module 0 — Welcome to Carbonless Logic™
The physics that apply everywhere. Why time is the most important variable in building design — and why understanding it changes every decision you make.

Module 1 — Passing the Torch
Fifty years of field experience distilled into a framework — and the question every builder and every homeowner must eventually answer.

Module 2 — The Envelope: Building Physics That Lasts
Walls, roof, foundation, windows, drainage, and verification. Get the envelope right and everything else gets easier. Every single time.

Module 3 — Systems Thinking
Why buildings fail — and how to stop repeating the mistakes of the past by connecting every layer into one working system.

Module 4 — The Eleven Control Layers: Building for 2126
The physics-based framework that governs long-term durability, efficiency, and indoor air quality in every structure — in every climate.

Module 5 — Air, Moisture, and Mold Control
The module that prevents callbacks, lawsuits, and health problems. Moisture is never a surprise when you understand how it travels.

Module 6 — Thermal Control & Energy Flow
How BTUs move, where they’re lost, and why envelope design — not mechanical equipment — is the real answer to energy efficiency. This is the module your HVAC contractor needs you to take before they size your system.

Module 7 — Materials That Matter: Insulation 101 & Assemblies That Work
How real insulation materials behave in real buildings — and why systems always outperform individual products, no matter what the label says.

Module 8 — Speed & Scheduling: The 28-Day Build
How coordination, rhythm, and repeatability create faster builds, fewer mistakes, and better margins. For builders who want to work smarter.

Module 9 — The Thermal Suite Case Study: Proof in the Field
A real house. Real budget. Real results. Walk through every decision Brian made and see the verified performance numbers. 1,200 square feet. Under $200k. About $60 a month in HVAC. This is what the physics delivers.

Module 10 — Smarter, Not Harder: Builder Profit Without Compromise
The operational disciplines that separate consistently profitable builders from everyone else competing in the same market.

Module 11 — Carbonless Logic™ in the Real World
A field test of the framework under real conditions, real climates, and real constraints. Because physics doesn’t care where you build.

Module 12 — The Carbonless Engine™ and Metrics
The measurement framework that turns hope into proof — and gives you numbers your clients, your contractors, and your own conscience can trust.

Module 13 — The Future: The Carbonless Movement™
Where building science is heading, why it matters, and the role you play in shaping what 2126 looks like. This one stays with you.

What You’ll Walk Away With

✓ Total confidence in how to design, build, or retrofit a home that lasts 100 years
✓ A clear understanding of how heat, air, and moisture move — and how to control all three
✓ The knowledge to cut energy demand 50% or more before a single piece of mechanical equipment is ever sized
✓ The ability to ask the right questions — whether you’re the builder or the person writing the check
✓ Freedom from mold, rot, and the surprise repair bills that follow both
✓ The peace of mind that comes from building like the future depends on it — because it does

About Your Instructor

I started in construction at fourteen years old, hanging sheetrock on a neighbor’s job site. Over the following five decades I built across 35+ developments, touching every corner of the industry — framing, insulation, development, scheduling, energy auditing, and building science education.

I hold degrees in architecture and civil engineering. I earned my Certified Energy Auditor designation through Northern States Power. I have designed over 750 buildings that were constructed, developed 3,000 acres of land, and been involved in more mold abatement projects than I care to count. Each one taught me something the code book never covered.

I invented the Tstud™ — 10 US patents, 5 Canadian — because I kept running into a problem nobody had solved. I built my own Thermal Suite to prove the system works. And I founded Carbonless as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit because the knowledge that took me fifty years to earn should not take the next generation fifty years to learn.

Over the last twelve years, more than ten thousand people have reached out with the same question: “How do we build better?”

This course is my answer.

“The buildings we design today will still be standing in 2126. Someone will be living in them. Someone will be paying the utility bill. Someone will be breathing the air. Are we building for today — or are we building for generations?”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a construction background to take this course?

No. The course is designed for both homeowners and professionals. Brian teaches building physics in plain language — no prior technical knowledge required. If you've ever wondered why your house feels uncomfortable or why your energy bills are high, this course will give you answers.

Is this course just for new construction?

No. The principles taught in Carbonless Builder™ apply to new builds, retrofits, and remodels. Whether you're starting from scratch or improving an existing structure, the same physics applies — and the same framework works.

How is the course delivered?

The course is audio-based, designed to be listened to while driving, working, or on the go.

Is continuing education credit available?

Yes. Several modules are approved for CE credit in jurisdictions that recognize structured building science instruction, with values ranging from 1.0 to 1.5 CE hours per module. Check with your licensing body for eligibility in your area.
